The 5 Ingredients Found In Acne Medication That Actually Makes Your Skin Worse

The purpose of this article is to make you aware that some acne
medications contain harmful chemicals that could contribute to
your current skin condition. It is not my intent to give medical
advice, but to give you information that you can use when choosing
what type of treatment to seek for help with your acne problem.

These are common ingredients that are used in the most popular
acne treatments and body lotions that are just making your acne
worse.

1. Harmful alcohols - If it begins with ethyl– butyl– methyl– octyl–
propyl– or ends with –ene –eth. Not only do they dry out and irritate
the skin, they also shrink the pores which can cause them to clog quicker.

2. Sodium Laurel Sulfate and Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate- These
harsh soaps will cause itching and redness in the skin.

3. Methylparaben and Propylparaben- These are preservatives that
you may be allergic to. There may also be a possible link to cancer.

4. Benzoyl Peroxide – This is a very dangerous chemical that can
actually burn a hole right through your skin.

5. Mineral Oils – which are derived from Crude Oil, this one should
be self explanatory!

It has been determined by numerous healthcare professionals that an
all natural treatment plan would probably be the best for fighting acne
and would promote overall wellbeing and good health.

Here is a short list of some all natural ingredients you may want to look for in
any acne treatment plan you are considering on using.

Organic Aloe Vera Gel- It contains over 75 nutrients and 200 active
compounds, including 20 minerals, 18 amino acids, and 12
vitamins. Aloe has been used to treat wounds, cuts, minor burns, and
skin irritations since ancient Egypt . Aloe is the best natural healer
for acne.

White Willow Bark- This has been used for hundreds of years in
Chinese medicine. Salicin is the active ingredient in white willow
and the body will convert it into Salicylic acid which aids in the
elimination of pimples. This natural form of Salicylic acid does not
cause adverse allergic reactions like the chemically derived version.

Gotu Kola- Often referred to as "food for the brain" has a mild
calming effect on the body due to it's support of the central nervous
system. It is also used to promote healthy skin and treat skin
inflamation.

Alfalfa- It is rich in amino acids and protein and has properties that
detoxify the skin and restores body tone. This is one of the best
ingredients to use in your fight against acne.

Valerian Root- Valerian which basically means good health in Latin
also works with the central nervous system and provides a soothing
effect to the skin. Another beneficial property is it's ability to act as
a deep cleanser of the skin.

Green Tea- A powerful antioxidant that is being used in everything
from toothpaste to soft drinks these days. It will help your immune
system repair the damage caused by skin disorders, pollutants and
other environmental factors.

Vitamin E- Vitamin E is very effective when it comes to protecting
skin from environmental pollutants and damage caused by
oxidation. It is very helpful in the treatment and removal of acne
scars and stretch marks.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of natural ingredients that are helpful
the treatment of acne. I will be sharing more of those with you as we go along
this journey to better and healthier skin.

Fight Acne With A Simple And Healthy Lifestyle

Natural Acne Treatment

You Can Fight Acne With Simple Healthy Solutions

Yes acne is very prevalent among teenagers, but you should not let it control
your life. There are a lot of ways to fight acne quickly and naturally without
the latest lotions and potions. Acne can be a very sensitive and painful issue to
deal with and the fact that not everyone has to go through this ordeal
makes for a very stressful experience.

The fact is no one really knows what causes it, where it actually comes from or
why it typically starts with puberty. I remember being around 13 or 14
when it started, and not having a clue what was going on. I certainly didn't like
being called all the names some of the other kids came up with,
I'm sure you've heard your share, so no need to go into details right?

...The good news is you don't have to continue to suffer...

Most people seem to think that eventually you'll grow out of it, but that's not
always the case. I personally dealt with acne well into my 20's. Let me tell
you, dealing with pimples at 22 is no more than fun than dealing with them at
16.Talk about being stressed out!

But there is hope my friend...Here's a few suggestions you might want to
consider.

Try not to let it stress you out too much...I know easier said than done, but
try anyway.

What ever you do never use any type of astringent, you know like witch
hazel, rubbing alcohol or even oatmeal, because they shrink your pores and
will cause them to clog up with oil.

Do not scrub when washing or cleansing. I remember scrubbing my face so
hard once that it burned for days afterwards...notice I said "once".

Avoid stimulants like caffeine, nicotine and...dare I say it...SUGAR!,yes sugar.
I promise you won't die from lack of soda's and candy bars. These stimulants
cause the body to produce more oil, which has to leave the body through the
pores and that causes more pimples.

No alcoholic beverages...what a buzz kill right?...truth is alcohol in any
form is an astringent, which shrinks the pores and what?.....causes them to
clog up. Besides it also causes fatigue and stress and who needs that at a time
like this?

OK, so there are a lot of ways to fight and control and fight acne, but the best
way is a healthy lifestyle. Healthy lifestyles will lead to healthier skin and a
healthier body. Changing any bad habits wouldn't hurt either. If you were
once afraid to make changes, don't be. Of course, it may be hard to at first,
